You can choose between two types of controls at the character creation screen or in the game menu:

**Marine 2D (v. 0.0210)**

 Audio Upgrade: Iโ€™ve integrated a pack of professional-quality sound effects to enhance immersion. Every shot, explosion, and alien scream will now feel more intense!


๐ŸŽจ AI-Enhanced Graphics and music: I experimented with Stable Diffusion AI to generate assets based on my own sketches. The result? More detailed visuals, faster iteration, and a much stronger sci-fi atmosphere! Olso i try professional music design using Udio AI, and its fantastic! I can create melody, ritmics and any type of sound design as i like, making music more faster and cool that ever!

This update is not just about polishing what exists but also laying the groundwork for the final features before we reach Marine 2Dโ€™s first full version.

New building visuals! Structures are now divided into Military, Scientific, Medical, Standard, and Scaffolding categories. This creates a more immersive world, with distinct areas instead of generic environments.

Shop platforms redesigned for better clarity and usability.

UI improvements & new icons to enhance readability and style consistency.


โš™๏ธ Gameplay Tweaks & Balancing

Dash Cooldown Reduced: From 5s โ†’ 3s for a smoother, faster-paced experience. Movement and combat should now feel more fluid and responsive.


Enemy AI Improvements:

Shooter & Xenoworm movement behaviors adjusted for better pathing and challenge balance.

Xeno Horde now properly spawns from multiple locations rather than clustering together unrealistically.

Improved Underground Areas:

Underground environments have been refined, but occasional floating structures still persist (working on it! ๐Ÿ˜…).

Better patrol paths for enemies in enclosed areas, making stealth and strategy more engaging.


๐Ÿž Bug Fixes & Optimizations

Fixed map generation bugs, ensuring proper placement of floors, walls, and entry points.

Resolved an issue with Dash not functioning on stairs when using WASD controls.

Fixed a rare bug where enemies could become stuck in walls after being pushed.

General performance optimizations to reduce lag and improve framerate stability.

With this update, weโ€™ve taken a major step in refining Marine 2Dโ€™s core mechanics and atmosphere. But weโ€™re not stopping here! The next major update will focus on game progression mechanics and replayability.

- New Scenario: Find the Gate Codes:
 Explore new areas and find hidden code fragments to unlock the gate and advance to the next level.

- New Scaffolding System:
Scaffolds now develop alongside cliffs, creating new structural layers and opportunities for strategy.  

- New Structure Format: Gardens:
 Medium and large structures now include "Gardens," featuring fewer rooms but more guardian monsters to challenge you.  

- Door Lock Icons:
Colored lock icons have been added to doors to help players navigate and open rooms easily.

Okay, after playing a round:

1. it took me a bit to figure out Left Click means open doors. You need to put some kind of left click icon near doors and stuff you can do. Also making opening doors instead of E or Right Click is an interesting design choice, because it also took me awhile to figure out Right Click is shooting, since I accidentally skipped that instructions. Put a right click icon in the beginning when encountering an enemy. 

2. The gate activation is confusing. I found 3 gears that turned on generators but no hint of what do after that.

first of all I have to thank you for playing Marine2D: thanks to you we managed to exceed 100 plays this week, you know?! The first milestone for this game :)

The tutorial is actually very sparse; There is currently a little button down in the game menu that activates screens for the game's mechanics.

I don't mind the idea of activating icons above the monsters or the character, when the tutorial is active, at all. I think I'll upgrade it when there's a rework of the icons. this was before the beta release.

On Monday there will be a small patch for some errors I encountered and the milestone announcement.

p.s. I hadn't even thought about a download version. I will release the final game for different platforms: Apple, Win, Linux, Android. steam etc... but if it is much more useful, at this stage I could make a download version :)

Want more sprawling bases with more items/missions to motivate it's exploration...

And may be to add need NPC HP bar...
